PREGNANCY & LASHES
First of all, congratulations on your pregnancy. I hope you are feeling well & are able to enjoy this time.
Now to get into it.
There are no regulations regarding lashes and pregnancy unfortunately, so that leaves the subject open for debate.
If you are a new client I won't be able to carry out any treatments at this time.
I am so sorry, I know it is disappointing but I have put this rule in place to protect you & your unborn baby.
Once you have given birth & are feeling up to it, I'll be delighted to give you a 2 hour lash nap!
(If you would like to read on you will see why I have made this decision and if you are unhappy with this please feel free to click the Contact Me button below and I will answer any queries you may have.)
If you are a regular client of mine, I can carry out lash treatments up until your third trimester however there are still a few things to take into consideration before you book your next appointment so lets go through them below.

PREGNANCY & LASHES
Regular Clients
PATCH TEST
Because you are experiencing new levels of hormones it is extremely important to have a patch test if it has been over 5 weeks since your last treatment.
This is because we can develop reactions to anything at any time and when you are pregnant you not only increase that likelihood but you also cannot take an antihistamine should you have a reaction.
If you have conceived while wearing lashes & are regularly getting refills every 2-3 weeks you will not require a patch test.
LYING DOWN
When you are pregnant and you lie on your back your uterus compresses a major blood vessel called the Vena Cava.
This disrupts blood flow to your baby and can cause you to get dizzy or feel nauseous.
Aside from this, it can also be quite dangerous for your baby.
For this reason, I will never carry out treatments during your third trimester or if you cannot comfortably lie still for a treatment period of time.
Lashes are a luxury after all and there will be plenty of time to get them back on once your beautiful baby has safely arrived.
MAKING THE FINAL DECISION
Like I said there are no guidelines on carrying out lash treatments during pregnancy and as such it is entirely up to both you and I whether we go ahead or not.
If you are happy to go ahead and have a patch test we can arrange a consultation and I can assess whether or not I will be happy to carry out any treatment.
If I don't feel comfortable and have to refuse you please try not to be too upset as I really only have your best interests at heart.
Please note you may be asked to provide a doctors note.
I hope this has helped you but if not or if you have any further questions please click the Contact Button below and I can help you out in any way.
If you are happy to go ahead you can click the Patch Test button and I look forward to seeing you.
LASH LIFT QUESTIONS
So firstly, what exactly is a Lash Lift?
A lash lift is a process where your natural lashes are chemically curled.
This treatment is completely safe and it results in lengthened, darker, more volumious natural lashes.
Read below to check out some of the most commonly asked questions regarding this fabulous treatment.

HOW LONG DOES A LASH LIFT LAST?
Typically a lash lift will last for 6-8 weeks depending on a number of factors including:
The regrowth rate of your natural lashes
If you follow the aftercare correctly.
WHO IS IT FOR?
A lash lift is for anyone who wants to have beautifully curled lashes all the time.
Anyone from the age of 18 can have an LVL lash lift. This treatment is perfect for mature or tired eyes as it can instantly open and refresh the eye area, so you appear bright eyed and ready to go.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
A lash lift costs €54.
It takes 1 hour to complete the treatment and it lasts for 6-8 weeks.
DO YOU NEED A PATCH TEST?
Yes, all new clients need a patch test which is carried out by applying a small amount of the treatment products to the skin.
If you are a returning client but you haven't had a treatment in the last 6 months or have become pregnant since your last treatment you will need another patch test.
WILL A LASH LIFT DAMAGE YOUR NATURAL LASHES?
The lash lift products I use at Súile Lash Studio are packed with vital ingredients like collagen and oats to enhance your lash health and strength, whilst minimising the risk of damage.
It is extremely safe & I know you'll love the results.
CAN YOU STILL WEAR MASCARA?
Most clients also don't want to wear mascara and this treatment eliminates the need for that.
However, if you love mascara you can still wear it, creating even more drama. But just remember to wait 48 hours after your treatment before you apply any products.
WHAT AFTERCARE IS INVOLVED?
For the first 48 hours after your treatment, avoid getting your eye area wet or using any products at all on the lashes. This is because your lashes can take up to 48 hours to lock into place and if they get hot or wet, the lift will drop. After this time period, there are no restrictions with an LVL lash lift, so you can continue to shower, swim and use saunas without protecting your eye area.
